BRENTWOOD FINISHES 3RD AT TSSAA STATE TOURNAMENT

Posted Monday, February 18, 2008 by Joe Blair

Brentwood High was well represented this past weekend at the TSSAA State Tournament. The Bruins finished 3rd in the overall team standings. This matches the 1991 team for the highest finish at state in school history. Three wrestlers advanced to the state finals in their weight classes: Josh Overmyer (2nd at 103), Tate Mustin (2nd at 171), and Cameron Croy (STATE CHAMPION AT 189). This is the most Brentwood has ever had in the finals in one year. Blake Thomas also placed 4th at 112. Cameron finished the season undefeated with a 38-0 record.
The entire team competed with class and dignity all weekend and were truly something to be proud of.
